“The Punisher”: Leg Day

This 90 minute lower body, leg day workout is no joke My students couldn’t walk for a few days after, hence one of them named this class “The Punisher ” heeheeHowever, the vibe is light and fun Most of this class is low impact (no jumping) but high intensity because although the pace is slow, it is very consistent and we are using weighs (can be done without weights too) We open with a guided meditation that is 15 minutes in length, moving us from want (lack) into having Yeah baby! So good, but if you wanna get right into it, fast forward this one to 15:30 and that is where the warm up begins Hand weights are used for the first part of class with effective exercises to tone the butt/glutes, core, hamstrings, quads and inner thighs We do 2 Tabata Intervals at the very end to blast fat, really get the cardio vascular system revved up and squeeze out the last bit of sweat Yoga cool down and short savasana to finish

This 35 minute practice is the end of a weight class and works perfectly as a short yoga session on it’s own The tempo is slow and we work on refining our low back alignment and how to articulate with our finger tips to find more space in the back on poses like standing splits, parsvottanasana and seated poses! The focus is on the hamstrings, inner thighs and the glutes Other yoga poses include: runner’s stretch, balancing thigh stretch, seated twists, frog and seated hip openers such as gomukasana and fire log pose We end in a soothing savasana
